Home Fire Safety
CFA Brigades attend more than 1000 house fires every year.
Fortunately there are a few simple things you can do to help protect your family from the dangers of fire.
Taking the time to "check your hotspots", making sure you have a working smoke alarm, and preparing a home escape plan can give you a greater chance of avoiding the devastating effects of fire.
- Know the common causes of house fires and ways to prevent them from occurring in your home
- Make sure you have a working smoke alarm
- Install home fire safety equipment including a fire blanket and fire extinguisher and learn how to use these
- Make a home fire escape plan and practise it with all members of your family
- Teach all members of the family how to dial 000 in an emergency
